The Melville Storm are Statewide T20 Champions! Melville won the semi final against WA Country XI by 7 wickets. The Storm restricted the Country side to 9/113 off their 20 overs. Mark Turner and Tom Kerr-Sheppard took 2 wickets each. The Storm chased it down comfortably with 2 overs to spare. Luke Towers top scored with 69 off 57 balls (8x4s & 1×6) opening the batting.

Under lights the Storm advanced to the final taking on the WA Indigenous XI. Melville lost the toss and bowled first restricting the Indigenous XI to just 82. Brad Turner, who was man of the match dominated in the middle overs picking up figures of 5/7 off his 4 overs. Drew Porter also bowled well, taking 3/6 off his 4 overs. After in a bit of trouble early on in the run chase, Ryan Duffield (31*) and Drew Porter (21) steadied the ship to get the score 5 down.

Melville hopes to take this winning form onto Adelaide next week when they take on the country’s best grade cricket clubs in the National Premier T20 Championships.
